Shelby began her ballet training in Auburn Alabama at age 9 with the East Alabama Community Ballet. At 16 she attended a summer intensive at The Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet in New York City. At the end of the intensive she was asked to stay for their year-round professional training program. She spent the next three years in NYC being trained by Prima Ballerina Gelsey Kirkland as well as other iconic ballet masters from around the world. After her three years as a student, Shelby accepted a professional company contract from the Georgia Ballet. She is currently going into her fourth year dancing for the Georgia Ballet. Dancing and teaching are two of Shelby’s greatest passions. She is excited to share her love for both as a member of CK Danceworks!
