Class Descriptions:

Hatha Flow

geared for students new to Yoga and those just beginning their yoga practice. The class consists of slower movements held for longer times. They are a set of postures and deep stretches designed to align the muscles and bones. It’s a powerful tool for self-transformation and will also encourage you to bring focus to your breath. It’s a great class for any level of fitness, but especially for beginners.


Vinyasa Flow

this non-heated class is recommended for all levels. Instructors offer modifications and variations throughout the class to challenge all levels and abilities. Each student experiences a personal journey of discovery, finding increased strength, balance, and flexibility.


Yin Yoga/Deep Stretching

This deep stretch class is a great complement to other styles of yoga. Yin yoga emphasized softness and self-compassion. It is a non-strenuous class that will stimulate parts of your body, such as the joints, tendons, and muscle fascia, not typically affected by more energetic yoga styles. Yin poses are taught seated or prone and are held for three to five minutes, with a focus on the breath and the inner landscape. This class is open to all levels.


Pilates Floor

This traditional Pilates mat class is a total body workout that focuses on the deep core muscles, strengthening both the abdominals and the spine. Pilates improves posture, balance, and flexibility. The instructor will work at your level giving modifications or progressions as needed. This is a great class to work on muscle tone and great for dancers too. Everyone is welcome.


Barre Flow

Barre – YES! Yoga – YES! HIIT – YES! An intermediate level barre class that challenges your mind and body using a variety of full-body exercises and isolated movements. HIIT options can be modified. This is a great class for dancers too!


SilverSneakers Yoga

Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level for the 55 & over community and is taught by our certified Silver Sneakers instructor.

about us

Andrea

ANDREA CORTES

Andrea is from Mexico City, she started practicing yoga 6 years ago and from there she decided to get certified to deepen her practice and help others. She realized how much yoga can help physically and mentally. Yoga became part of her life and primary focus. She is also certified in Pilates, Aerial Yoga, Yoga Wheel, Health Coach, and Reiki. Her classes are focused on incorporating, pranayama, body awareness, flexibility, strength, and balance.
Dessie

DESSIE DANIELL

Dessie was a lifelong dancer turned yogi. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and her 100-Hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. Dessie currently owns Belle Femme Studios in Cartersville, GA, and is launching a 100-Hour Barre Flow Teacher Training in the Summer of 2021. Dessie loves to incorporate barre and yoga together in her classes for a well-rounded mind-body-soul experience. Dessie is married and has two boys and two dogs. She doesn’t have much free time, but when she does she loves to cook, do house projects, and spend time with her family.
Paige

PAIGE HINTON

Paige Hinton is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She is known for her insights, playfulness, compassion for people of all body types, sense of humor, and deep love for yoga. She brings a unique guidance and teaching style to her students to facilitate their transformation physically and mentally. Paige was a professional dancer in New York City for 15 years and brings her love of movement to her yoga sequencing with a creative play on the mat while focusing on proper alignment to allow space in the body for healing. Yoga philosophy is infused through the practice with warm, tender love and laughter. Paige specializes in guiding beginners who are new to their yoga journey through advanced students who are continuing to show up every day to their practice.
April

APRIL McLAIN

April began her love of the human body and what it is capable of when she was introduced to chiropractic. She became an X-ray Technician and Chiropractic Assistant. She followed up with certifications with Trinity School of Natural Health, Life Power Yoga Teacher Training, Silver Sneakers Yoga and Classic, and a Stretch Instructor Certification through the American Sports and Fitness Association. April teaches Vinyasa Flow, Beginner Slow Flow, Yin, and Silver Sneakers Yoga at CK. April lives in our community with her husband and has 4 children. She is a proud Wolfpack fan!
Katie

KATIE SLOAN

Katie is an Australian now living in North Georgia and is passionate about seeing women find freedom through breath and movement in yoga. Many of her classes are catered to beginners and have a Hatha Yoga theme. After having a serious accident a year and a half ago and shattering her arm, yoga became her form of rehabilitation and healing in heart and body through this movement. She now aims to provide the same space for others.
